We have stayed here before and it is still a good overnight place. No frills. Price is Passport America with 50 amp. All pull through sites with good Wi-Fi and cable TV.

Nice no frills campground in a rural setting. Price quoted is Passport America. The park is next to a cotton field and everyone had to go check it out. We picked a bowl. Long pull through sites.

We have stayed here before and will stay here again. Place is getting busier and Wi-Fi is getting slower. They did tell me upfront they were working on it. If you are in a fifth-wheel the hookups are up front for a motorhome and your tow vehicle is almost in the street if you don't want to unhook. The spa is turned off and you need to tell them when you want to use it so they can go up 30 minutes ahead of time and turn it on. I went up at my scheduled time and it was off. They showed up as I was leaving to start it up. Laundry is still free.

We have stayed here before, and it is a nice free park. To get free you need a players club card and go to the gift shop to sign in. This trip there were quite a few trucks parked back by the campground with the engines running. On the way out we tried to use the dump station and the sewer connection is about 8 inches higher than the connection on the fifth wheel. You know what doesn't run up hill. We did manage though but I won't do that again. It seems easier to do on a motorhome though as the connection is higher.

We spent four days here and it is a great campground. Nice woodsy setting and the park was completely redone a couple of years ago so it is all new. Nice marina but no fuel and I don't think firewood was available. Nice visitor center. Good hiking trails and of course the lake. There are 20 AAA sites for bigger rigs with w/s/e at $27 a night with a 25% discount for Arkansas seniors, and out-of-staters get the discount during the week. The BB sites are for smaller rigs and only w/e at $17 a night. Each site has a tent pad in addition to the RV site. No entry fee to the park which is a plus as most state parks we have been to required an entry fee in addition to the camping fee.

As usual a nice COE park and only $7 with the Golden Age Passport. We stayed here three nights and enjoyed the visit. We were in site 11 and found it difficult to back the 38 foot fifth wheel in but other sites looked easier. Especially #1.

We stayed there three nights. The rate is the Passport America rate of $10 for full hook up. Close to the Sand Dunes and Ft.Garland. Site was level and the park is reasonable quiet and clean. The Rio Grande Scenic train passes by and blows the steam whistle. It has been a long time since I have heard that sound. We would stay here again.

What a wonderful park. The sites are large and level with lots of grass. The wifi works great but there is no cell phone service for AT&T but I signed up with Skype for $2.95 a month to make phone calls and check voice mail messages. It is 10 miles to town. We are here for two months and are seriously thinking of coming back again next year. The park has new owners. Everything the previous posts say I second.

This is the only campground up here with hook ups. Water and electric only with a dump station. Dirt roads and the site we are on is very unlevel. In fact I had to put 5.5 inches of blocks down to drive the rear wheel of the truck on to get the front of the 5er up to level it. It still isn't perfect but doable. The office staff ( Linda ) is very friendly and nice. I got a WiFi signal from somewhere but don't know where. The Gilpin County offices are across the street so maybe that's where. The Gilpin County rec center is also close by and non-residents can swim indoors and shower and use all the facilities for $3 a day. They advertise cable TV but our site didn't work and I used my satellite dish.

Yes, it is NOT a resort. No pool or spa. I have stayed in worse and the parks in the metro Denver area are very limited. We need to be here a month which limits it even more. If you are going to be here just a few nights there are better options but for a longer stay those options are limited. We have been here 4 days and it is ok. I would call it a working mans park. It is part of a combination mobile home/rv park. The wifi is Tengointernet so that means it is spotty. The office gave me a code for four free hours to check it out. It is tolerable. The above rate is on the monthly rate. The office staff are nice and helpful.

We have stayed here before as it is a Passport America Park. This was our 4th stay here. Not a bad park. The Wi-Fi is in the office only and NOT AT SITES. Staff is friendly and helpful. It seems busier than it used to be as it a now a Coast to Coast, RPI and another membership group. The site we were in ( a back in ) was roomy and OK.

We have stayed here before and got a site on the side of the office with the trees. This time those were full and we got a site on the other side by the old motel. Not level but ok. Wifi is good and cable is good. I would still stay here again.

Small campground with fairly large sites and a GREAT VIEW!! On top of Raton Pass north of Raton. If you want to watch TV you will need your dish. Only one English channel that I could get on digital. The office closes at 4pm so call ahead first to get a pull through. Free Wi-Fi with instructions and coupon code from office. Wi-Fi is very slooooow.

It is a great park with lots of amenities. Free laundry, nice spa, big sites, free wifi and wide roads. Lots of pull through sites. The park was only about 1/3 full when we were there. The rate is their stimulus rate and the Passport America rate. I would almost go out of my way to stay here again.

Great free park. Coming in go to the end of the campground and then come in. It is first come first serve. You must go get a players club card for the free stay. After we got settled in we went up to the casino and with the new players club card for the free stay and if or when I lose $10 I get $10 in free play. Well, I lost the $10 which I figured paid for the rv site and on the free $10 from the casino I won $30 which put me $20 ahead of which I played $5 back in so it turns out we stayed in the park for free and won $15.

This is an update on my last post from Oct 2008. There is a tree at the end of the loop to be watched out for. I went around that loop and when I got to my end destination I had hit something on the roof and did some damage. A small hole in the rubber roof and took out two skylight covers.

Nice park 1/2 miles off I-20 near Kilgore. Good concrete roads and huge concrete pull through sites but not real level. At least the site I was on wasn't. Friendly staff and you are guided to your site. The cable TV leaves some to be desired with only 16 channels and some being pretty fuzzy. It appears to be a park cable system. The wifi didn't work when we got here but it was up in a short time and they came by from the office to let us know it was up. The price listed is not the Good Sam price.

Nice park back away from the highway so little to no road noise. We stayed one night in a fairly level pull through. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Above rate based on monthly at $225. Nice park with lots of trees. All sites are back in; if you have a long Fifth Wheel some sites are challenging. In fact the first site we tried I couldn't get into due to trees. It is a very nice park with really big sites and lots of room. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best but they are working on getting it where it works. The owner is spending a LOT of money on this and other improvements. The people here are extremely friendly. There are no planned activities but the winter Texans are always doing something together. For example last night was an impromptu pot luck and right before we got here they had a shrimp boil. I would definitely stay here again. Cell service is OK with Cingular but I've been told Verizon is spotty. A few Wilson Antennas for Verizon cell and air cards.

The price is based on weekly rate with 30 amp hookup. I was amazed at the lack of hurricane damage here and the park is about empty while all the private campgrounds in the area are full. It is a nice park with good access to the beach and the fishing jetty in walking distance. The sites are concrete pads and level. The wifi is a little slow and we have mosquitoes in December. We have stayed here in the past and have enjoyed the park. The staff is great and there is quite a bit to do in the area.

Nice park fairly close to downtown. The wifi is a little slow at times but ok. Nice big sites and the staff is accommodating and friendly. Clean laundry room. Rate is based on monthly rate. Some activities and a free catch and release fishing without a Texas license. We are here for a month.

All the private parks in this part of Texas and a large radius are full due to a large pipe line project. This is an alternative and a nice park. Typical Forest service /Govt campground. 30 amp electric and water available. We used the Golden age passport for the $6.50 rate. Sites are thigh and back ins but not bad. Nice view of the lake. We stayed on loop A.

Not much of a park. The web site shows what can be done with photography (a lot better looking in the photos than it is). It is more of a gravel parking lot with concrete strips for the wheels to rest on with hookups. It is only a mile and half from highway 19 and easy to get to. Good Wi-Fi. OK for an overnight stay. We did see a sign for Pecan Grove RV park on the loop 304 where we turned.

Not a bad RV park. To get the $10 rate you need a players club card which is not a problem. When we got there no one was in the office so we picked a spot and went over and got a card that also gives a discount in the restaurant and the gift shop. The spaces are long enough that I didn’t unhook. Dirt lot which is sorta level with water and electric (50 amp) only.Dump station is available at the back of the lot. For ten bucks it’s worth it. The gas station was $3.77 for diesel and everyone else we saw was $3.84.

We have stayed here 3 times before using Passport America. It is not a class A luxury park but not that bad either. We usually stay here in the spring for a few days as we have family in the area. It is quiet and out of the way. An older park and the sites are fairly close in the upper part. The lower section is pull throughs. The road in is narrow when you first enter behind the gas station. The wifi seems to work fairly well. We are here for the balloon fiesta and they didn't raise their regular rates though we couldn't use the PA discount due to the fiesta.

Nice basic park with LEVEL sites. If you get here early you can get a shady spot. The Wi-Fi works great and the cable TV is good with a lot of channels. Long pull throughs so you don't need to unhook. I would stay here again.

We have stayed here a few times before and it is a nice park with a good rate for Passport America. It probably used to be a mobile home park and the entry to the site is over a rounded curb. The sites are big with lots of grass and level. It has a pool and a spa that are nice to use. The wifi is $3 for 24 hours and is the usual park wifi that is great to poor depending. If you are using PA you need to make a reservation the day before staying.

I guess it's all in the perception. We stayed two nights at Passport America rate and I have been in parks with as much or more road noise. Yes it is on the Interstate and there is some noise but it pretty much died down after 11 pm. I didn't hear the rooster and got the wi-fi code which worked pretty well. We were in site 17 next to the Interstate and office. There are some sites farther from the road and I assume they are the "deluxe" 50 amp sites. The owner lives on site and is available. I would stay here again.

This is a huge campground. It is mainly for groups and events such as rodeos etc. If no event is going on they will let you stay. Some sites are level and some aren't. 30 amps only. It is about 10 miles off I-40 but close to town. We needed to be close to town so we stayed here.

As far as National Park Campgrounds go this one is good. Nice trees and a quiet place with a forest feel. The roads are black top and in good shape. I just wish when they paved the sites they had leveled mine #12. It took four two by sixes under the right side tires to get the fifth wheel level and the front to back was off quite a bit too. I did notice some of the sites were pretty level so it’s a crap shoot on getting a level one. But then again it is a Park Service campground and the scenery and surroundings are worth any problems.

We stayed one night after dry camping in the park at Grand Canyon. The campground hauls their water so use is limited to household. If you need to fill you tank for the park there is a dump station at the park when you go in. This campground is very pleasant and quiet with lots of nice trees and I could get a signal for my dish in space #69. They lead you to your site and if you have time I recommend the drive to Kanab for two reasons. #1 is Escobars Mexican Restaurant which has some of the best Mexican food I have eaten and #2 is the scenic view of the Grand Staircase Escalante and the Vermilion cliffs. While in Kanab it might be a good idea to fill your fuel tank as the diesel is about 320 to 30 cents a gallon cheaper.

We stayed four nights at Passport America rate. We were guided to the level site. The sites are fairly large but are back to back. In a fifth wheel they rent the front site so it is a pull through and then rent the rear site to a smaller rig. The campground is gravel and small rock. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here after dry camping for a day. Not a bad park but.... when you come in there is no where to park at the office. There is a road to the left going up the hill that looks like where I needed to go but someone was parked in there and I pulled up on the road in front of the office. After I checked in I had to back up a 38 foot fifth wheel back out to the street and make the hard turn to the left. I got to the site by a round about way and the site I was supposed to be on was occupied. I called the office and she gave me a choice of a couple more sites none of which appeared level. In fact they aren’t level. WAAAAY off. An Airstream came in after me next door and he has 3” of pads under the wheels and the trailer hitch is on the ground. The site ramps up hill and is off by 3 “ side to side. The connections aren’t handy and I recommend laying out the electric and sewer hose to get a feel for where the rig can go. They advertise Wi-Fi but it doesn’t work at the sites. You have to go down by the office or the pool to get logged on. Actually I am not sure it works at all. I could get a signal at times but I couldn’t connect to the network.

We stayed as Passport America at $12 a night. We were here for 3 nights. The sites are not very level and dirt and side by side so not roomy. Stay in #1 if possible as that way you are not crowded and looking at your neighbor's door. It is ok for a short stay and an ok RV park but not great.

We were in the “ primitive” campground at the Navajo Tribal Park Monument Valley. Primitive is a good word. It is a dirt area that the rocks have been removed from and it was a picnic area but it has great views of Monument Valley and there are a few level spots. No organization so you just park where ever suits you. The road into the campground goes through the visitor center area that is being remodeled with a hotel being built and through that parking lot that also is rough and dirt. The dust flies. From the parking lot the road to the camping area is pretty rough but doable. Thing is the cost is $10 a night and you are where the views are. The sunset is good and the stars at night are great. Worth the effort in my opinion. It also seems that all this temporary until the remodel/building gets done.

We stayed here for 2 nights on Passport America at $13 a night. It is a pleasant campground with quite a few monthlies and pretty good free wi-fi. It is on the Rio Grande River but not real close to the campground. The camp host is a very nice lady and very helpful. The sites are grass and close together and it is a no frills campground. I would stay there again.

We stayed using Passport America. Two nights at $13 and one at $26. Older ark and sites are not too level but can be dealt with. Actually I managed to get a level site. Not fancy but the right side of the park faces an open field so it's pretty quiet. Nice cottonwoods for shade and the satellite dish was ok. We were in site 37.
